It's that time of year again, when the Houston Press honors the best art mavens in town with our "MasterMinds" issue. Every year at Winter Street Studios, you can celebrate with the winners and sample some of the best food and wine out there at our Artopia shindig. Along with all the pretty people walking around stuffing their faces, we have lined up a trio of bands to soundtrack your evening — Grandfather Child, Peekaboo Theory and the Lee Alexander Band. If you saw GFC's quick and lethal set at last summer's Houston Press Music Awards at Warehouse Live, you know what an amazing ruckus you are in for; Lucas Gorham and company are currently recording their first LP at SugarHill Studios. Peekaboo and roots-rocker Alexander should both be dropping new albums this year, with Peekaboo debuting on ZenHill Records after signing last fall.
KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
