Austin City Limits Festival Releases Preshow, Aftershow Lineups

This morning C3 Concerts, the folks behind the Austin City Limits Music Festival, announced the schedule for the pre- and after-show gigs surrounding the festival. As with this past March's SXSW, those without official credentials aren't totally being shut out of the fun.

Starting Wednesday, October 6, venues all over downtown Austin - see a complete schedule after the jump - will light up with bands doing one-off gigs besides their weekend sets over at Zilker Park. Wednesday night brings the Strokes playing over at Stubb's ahead of Friday's night-closing matchup against Phish.

Thursday night, Rocks Off faves Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Die Antwoord, Neon Indian, Spoon and Pat Green have shows scattered throughout town. South Africa's Die Antwoord isn't playing ACL, but we are going to try are damnedest to see this one. After Friday's first day of the festival Robert Earl Keen and Lucero headline La Zona Rosa, and flannel-y supergroup Monsters of Folk heads a bill at Stubb's with Texas guitar hero Jimmie Dale Gilmore.

Saturday night seems to be the night to be in Austin, with Sonic Youth and female acolytes Warpaint headlining La Zona Rosa. Warpaint slayed Austin last during SXSW, putting them firmly on the indie map. The Black Keys will be unfurling their new Brothers LP in front of a surely sold-out crowd at Stubb's with Foals.
