Bruce Springsteen Finally Coming Back to Houston

See that photo up there? That's the last decent live photo Rocks Off ran of Bruce Springsteen, and it's from SXSW 2012. Our photos from his Houston shows are so old we don't even want to use them anymore. We were starting to think he didn't like us.

Never mind. According to the Boss' official Web site, springsteen.net, Springsteen will break that local concert drought May 6 (a Tuesday) at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, one of 15 U.S. new dates announced Monday morning supporting his brand-new album High Hopes.

Hopefully former Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello, who appears on High Hopes, will continue filling in for Little Steven Van Zandt. Morello has been keeping a journal of the E Street Band's recent dates in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Van Zandt is off filming another season of his Netflix series Lillehammer, and Morello has been a natural foil for Springsteen. However, Van Zandt rejoined the band Sunday night in Australia, so E Street is now packing four (count 'em) guitars. Yikes.

In case you were wondering, the Boss' last show in Houston was April 2009 at Toyota Center, only a year after he had been here on the "Working On a Dream" tour.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, February 28, via livenation.com and ticketmaster.com. Go ahead and get excited.
