Pilot Talk, the latest album from the New Orleans-based rapper known as Curren$y (Shante Anthony Franklin), is a guaranteed smoker's delight, taking the listener for a trip down the sonic rabbit hole with the help of his Island Def Jam labelmate Ski Beatz, the producer largely known for his production work on Jay-Z's iconic 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt. Beatz adds a layer of beautiful grime to Curren$y's airy, energetic and intoxicating flow. With a national following that verges on cult status and could give his pal Wiz Khalifa a run for his money, Curren$y is sure to add to his legion of followers on this trip to the Bayou City, leaving behind a dizzying cloud of smoke in his wake.
