Shuddup, Dave. We're tired of your...well, you know where this is going.
Pray to whatever god you worship, light a candle or sacrifice a goat, because the Drenched In Blog team is leaving you to cover the Austin City Limits Music Festival in the dirty 512. We’re gonna need all the help we can get to traverse this drunken and sun-pelted weekend.
My “handler” Keith Plocek and I will be live-blogging on Saturday and Sunday during the show; by “live” we mean whenever one of us wakes up from a stupor and feels like typing. Hopefully, all the celebrities and rock stars will keep us awake with their high-wattage Hollywood glamour. Also, expect plenty of catty hatin’ on bitches and candid photos from the inside of any number of porta-johns. You were expecting witty bon mots a la Dave Barry? We work hard and we play hard.
We leave you today with a video to entice you to join us on that open road. Call in sick to work on Friday. Who cares? Paying bills is for posers. You aren’t a poser, are you? – Craig Hlavaty
KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE...
Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
The Houston Press is a nationally award-winning, 33-year-old publication ruled by endless curiosity, a certain amount of irreverence, the desire to get to the truth and to point out the absurd as well as the glorious.
