And just like that, my normally non-soiled jeans were not. Yes, March 2 the traveling metal bonanza Gigantour is hitting Houston's Verizon Wireless Theater, with Megadeth, Motorhead, Lacuna Coil, and Volbeat in tow. Are we excited? A little. Kind of a fan of Motorhead fan and all.

Megadeth last came through Houston in September 2010, with Slayer and Anthrax. Lemmy and company's last Houston date, in September 2009, ended with me having temporary hearing loss. Sweet, sweet deafness. You owe to yourself to at least experience the inability to walk due to sound at least once in your life. You can read more about Rocks Off's unhealthy Lemmy fixation here. The man just turned 66 years old.

This show is on a Friday night, so you have all weekend to recuperate. Pre-sale starts next week, and all the information can be had right here.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
