Today we have added boss hoss country artist Hayes Carll to the Chris Gray Day festivities, coming this Saturday at the Continental Club. Carll was last in Houston on December 30 for a whip-crack set, with Robert Ellis and Shovels And Rope opening for him. He goes on at 6 p.m., right in the middle of the fun.
Chris Gray Day gets going on Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs until they throw us out, or 2 a.m., whichever you prefer. During the day, kids are allowed in the venues accompanied by a parent or guardian, but in the evening, the event is 21 and up. There will stages at the Big Top, and DJ's spinning in the Pachinko Hut behind the venues.
You can check out Saturday's schedule right here too.
Once again, thank you Mr. Carll for donating your time and music to this event.
Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
