In the weeks leading up to the Houston Press Music Awards showcase on Sunday, August 4, Rocks Off will be profiling a handful of performers each day, mostly in their own words - part of the best top-to-bottum lineup the showcase has ever had, in our humble opinion. See the showcase schedule and ticket information at HPMusicAwards.com, and watch Twitter (@hprocksoff) every day until the showcase for your chance to win tickets.

To which member are we speaking? What are you nominated for? Hi, this is Adrian with Another Run, and we are nominated for Best Modern Rock!

Please list all of your regular band members and what instruments they play. Adrian Grammer, lead vocals/keys/drums; Brian Ramirez, guitar; Zak Weathers, guitar/vocals; Estevan Lerma, drums; Bob Lane, bass/vocals/trumpet.

Describe your band in four to seven words. Unique, Evolving, Passionate, Honest, Original.

Who is your single biggest musical influence and why? Personally, I'm going to say the band OURS and their singer Jimmy Gnecco. They are something like no other. Jimmy's vocals are otherworldly at times. They haunt me.

What recordings (if any) do you have readily available? Our last release "I'll Be There" is available on iTunes, Pandora Internet Radio, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, YouTube, etc.

Have you ever been HPMA-nominated before? When and what for? We were nominated last year at the 2012 Houston Press Music Awards for Best Modern Rock and we won! We are very thankful and honored to represent Houston music!

Where and how often do you perform (publicly) around Houston? Warehouse Live, Fitzgeralds, Walters, Scout Bar, House of Creeps... just a few favorites, with so many great venues around Houston.

Our show schedule varies between supporting incredible local acts, opening for national touring bands, and headlining our own events. We love Houston and being a part of the musical family that is growing larger and larger!

What is the next step for your band? Another Run is now poised to film a new video and release the debut single "Hunt Me Down" from the upcoming Just Pretend EP.

There will also be a brand new Web site launched very soon. Stay tuned to anotherrun.net and facebook.com/anotherrun for more details, including information on the radio premiere of the new single as well as the location of the special online release of "Hunt Me Down"!

Finish this sentence: "Houston music is..." ...a force to be reckoned with, considering all of the vibrant, imaginative, and inspiring artists that are emerging from this great city.

Another Run's HPMA showcase spot is 5 p.m. Sunday, August 4 at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, 1201 Fannin. See more about them at anotherrun.net or facebook.com/anotherrun.
