Love It Mayne: Houston Web Awards Welcomes Fat Tony

Rocks Off is pleased to announce that Houston rapper Fat Tony will be our special guest at the first-ever Houston Web Awards, 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30 at Momentum Audi (2315 Richmond). Tony, who is still riding high off last year's full-length debut RABDARGAB, will DJ throughout the evening, present a set of awards and close out the show with a brief performance.

Rocks Off's own Craig Hlavaty and Brittanie Shey will co-host the show. The Web Awards were created this year to honor outstanding digital achievement in more than 30 categories. Music-related categories include best music blog, best artist/band Facebook page and best tweeting rapper, which Rocks Off imagines Tony has a pretty decent shot at.

Tickets are $30 and include complimentary food and drinks (must be 21).

Tony recently wrecked the Free Press Summer Fest afterparty at Fitzgerald's alongside Big Boi, and returns to Fitz Thursday alongside B L A C K I E and Ninjasonik. Rocks Off last saw him a couple of days ago, when he waved to us from his skateboard as we were smoking outside of Leon's Lounge.
