Welcome back to yet another installment of our semi-famous Magnolia City Mixtape. Rocks Off works hard to scrape every barnacle of local music news from our ship that sails the high seas of the Internet - or something like that.

Slim Thug welcomed everyone back to Texas for the Super Bowl by dropping a new mixtape, appropriately titled Welcome To Texas Vol. 2. Grab it for this week's soundtrack.

How about some upcoming shows? The big news is Wild Moccasins' (above) European tour kick-off that'll see them gone until mid-April. That's at Fitzgerald's, with Young Mammals and Wicked Poseur starting off Saturday night. Here are some other concerts that piqued our interest:

• It's no secret that Rocks Off was quite awestruck by Big Freedia at Fun Fun Fun Fest last November. Find out just what the promise of "Azz Everywhere" means at Fitz tonight.
• In addition to all that azz, The Canvas Waiting, Holy Fiction, Finnegan, and The Shallows will be at Fitz tonight.
• Hearts of Animals hasn't played much in the past year and a half, but Mlee will be making an appearance at Rudyard's Saturday, with Fiskadoro and Christopher Cascio.
• While the Moccasins charm the pants off everybody upstairs, Glasnost, Fresh Millions, and Knifight will be inciting dancing downstairs Saturday.
• California's The Red River drops in to The Mink on Sunday night. Check out the Tiny Desk concert they did for NPR.

The Literary Greats' Black Blizzard is now available via iTunes and CD Baby. The official album release show won't be until April 8 at the Continental Club, so you'll have plenty of time to learn the words.

There's also a Pain Teens tribute album in the works. Check the comments of this post to find out who's covering what. There may still be room for more bands too.

Jonathan Jindra announced that Trills will be releasing a new album, entitled Blue Metabolic Sunrise, in the coming weeks. Check out the opening track, "Euphotic Zone" on the Trills blog.

Inspired by the recent events in Tunisia and Egypt, Tyagaraja's written a song of solidarity for any oppressed people.

FLOSS and Thugga aren't the only ones who leaked new music this week.

• Runaway Sun's posted a new song, "Bad Bad Man."
• Squincy Jones latest Screwed Tuesday features a Nicki Minaj track.
• Chamillionaire shows up with a new track, "This Is My World," and bonus freestyle "Rubber Bands."
• Otenki's released a new song, "Ghosts," that's available for streaming thanks to Buzznet.

Meanwhile, Rob Jay (above) has let a few new tracks slip on his blog - "Starring Role," "Generational Curse" and "Stick To Your Dreams" - which has led to some press. We also stumbled across this post featuring "Do You Believe In The Rap Phenomenon" - a track for which Rob just shot a video.

Far be it from MCM to only list the shows for the weekend - so we'll leave you with some upcoming weeknight shows to hold everyone over until we return:

• Free Press Houston wants to be your Valentine. So head on over to Fitz on Monday night for the Summer Fest lineup announcement party, and find out just who will knock off Houston's socks this summer.
• If there's 50 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, we suppose you could go see Linkin Park on Tuesday.
• Crazy punk-rock rabbits Nobunny return to Rudyard's on Wednesday, with The Wiggins and All At Sea opening.
• This one's not until Thursday - but seeing as Tapes N' Tapes is pretty awesome, and MCM won't run again until Friday, save the 17th for a trip to Fitz.
• Also on Thursday, The Cutters launch their tour at The Mink. Something Fierce, The Mahas, and Full Rainbows are all on the bill.
• The Wheel Workers will be releasing their album Unite at Walter's next Friday, with Featherface and The Orbans rounding out the bill. Ten bucks gains you entry and a copy of the album.
