Parents And KPRC Just Found Out About Rich's Sexy Dance Nights

There was a harried report last night on KPRC about the teen nights at Rich's Houston off San Jacinto, namely an upcoming Playboy-themed night geared towards underagers, those 14 to 18, to come out to the dance club in their sexiest gear.

Of course in light of the ongoing Penn State scandal, anything of even a remotely sexual nature involving teens and young adults is being scrutinized. The report, helmed by Dominique Sachse and Robert Arnold, features interviews with worried parents like Laura Gallier.

A Rich's rep gave a phone interview to KPRC about the event and did note that parents were encouraged to come to the club with their children, and that alcohol is not served while the underagers are grooving to Skrillex or DeadMau5 and whatever the hell else kids listen to these days and dance parties.

Somehow we are more worried about the parents volunteering themselves to chaperone their kids at one of these events, rather than outright putting their foot down and not allowing their teens to go altogether.

Rocks Off routinely covers the events at Rich's with slideshows, but ours are from nights with adult crowds and followings, ones with scantily-clad men and women with spray-painted body parts and togas. Those pictures are always more funny and light-hearted than enticing to be honest.

Do we agree with an evening presented to high school girls as Playboy-themed? Not at all, but considering what seems to be a decline in social standards and what flies with parents in 2011, it's not surprising that girls with braces and learning permits are trying to live out some Ke$ha-stoked fantasy at a Midtown dance club.

So parents, what do you think? Should your teen daughters be beckoned to a Playboy-themed event to "bring out the skirts and come looking sexy" on a school night no less, to strut their illegal stuff for prizes? Or should they probably wait until they turn 18 and go off to college, where they can use your credit card to buy a slutty maid costume for a campus Halloween shindig? Decisions...
