Rabbit in the Moon

If your Halloween isn't bizarre enough already, consider the sensory overload of Rabbit in the Moon live: strobe lights, lasers, smoke machines and a sea of costumed bodies writhing in (and perhaps on) ecstasy. Formed in 1991, the three-man Tampa-based outfit has become one of the premier remixers in the biz — Madonna, Tori Amos, David Bowie, White Zombie — while simultaneously releasing original music that treads not at all lightly between deep house, hard techno, ambient chill-out and Daft Punk-style vocoder madness. Last year's Decade, a comprehensive double-disc collection of past singles, new material, videos and live footage, is an excellent starting point for those looking to head down the Rabbit hole. So is Friday night.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
