We wanna go on tour in the worst way. We can't sing, play an instrument or even tap our feet in time, but after watching this tour video from Roky Moon & BOLT's recent national tour, we will learn to do something that can allow us to travel across the country with our best friends. Legally, if possible. Roky Moon & BOLT took this video while they traveled up the East Coast and through the Midwest back in March. It chronicles the band's adventures with food, booze, playing shows, and features enough bleary eyes to match even the Rocks Off HQ. The shot of drummer Jeoaf Johnson in a wet leather jacket was sexy as hell too. No shit.
There's no new music on the video, but you can hear pretty much the best parts of the Danny Elfman soundtrack to Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. The band is currently in a Houston studio recording their debut LP, and you can see them escape for one night next Wednesday for a free gig over at Walter's on Washington and again May 1.
Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
