Rocks Off just got the latest list of names for next year's SXSW conference and festival in Austin, and just like the last time, the conference remains unsullied by any performers from Houston's filthy, rotten, disgusting, in-need-of-quarantine music scene.
Just kidding. Apparently, Houston's music scene is already quarantined. We assume a few local artists will eventually be added - at least a rapper or two, right? - and a whole lot more will wind up in Austin next March regardless of whether or not they are playing SXSW itself.
In the meantime, H-town's listenlisten just got their ass kissed big-time - albeit in a backhanded, very Dallas sort of way - by Dallas' D Magazine, just in time for the spooky folk-rockers' release party for second LP dog at the Mink Saturday night.
Hopefully the club will have its PA fixed by then, but on the other hand, neither listenlisten, Two Star Symphony nor sIngs requires a whole lot of amplification; they just need the crowd to shut the hell up. Rocks Off just found out a knife-thrower has been added to the bill, perhaps as added incentive. No lie.
Anyhow, we digress. List of the latest SXSW adds after the jump. Our picks: The Bellrays, the Dears, Eliza Doolittle, Heavy Cream, the Oh Sees and the Woggles.
