The American Heist

Saturday, The American Heist lets loose their self-titled debut LP, with a little help from death-punks Hell City Kings, trad-punks Blackmarket Syndicate and organ-y upstarts All At Sea. Since their formation a few years back, Heist has gone through a name change (the band was formerly known as Born Anchor) and one or two personnel changes (guitarists come and go), but the core trio of lead singer/guitarist Tim Blackout, drummer Carl Chambless and bassist Evan Camp has stayed the same. This debut firmly entrenches Heist's sound, full of Matt Freeman-style bellowing from Blackout, a healthy dose of Social Distortion and Hot Water Music, and a dash of Sham 69, with all three influences coalescing on "Same Old Ways" and "One More Night."
