BeatKing is a supernatural rap being composed of blood, flesh and the mental capacity to enjoy ridiculing folks. It happens on Twitter constantly, so much so he gets escorted around like a conquering gladiator whenever he dives into one of his legendary rank sessions.
Charting his career falls into three categories. Category A is strictly his appearance as a rapper who enjoys crafting club music: catchy, nefarious numbers where sex, raunch and enjoyable one liners are key. Category B is crafting radio hits, at a rate of nearly two or more a year. Currently two BeatKing songs dominate radio on and off - "Smile" with Fat Pimp is his most current with "You Ain't Bout That Life", "Crush" and "Throw Dat Ahh" representing his previous instances in the past year.
The third involves him being a viral sensation, someone who like Joe Budden & Fabolous before him with sports punchlines (Josh Howard never, ever recovered from Budden mentioning him in a "Crazy" freestyle during the '06 Finals) - cannot wait until something happens to be led by fans to make something humorous and even controversial.
To note, there have been plenty of BeatKing "hashtag" freestyles since he truly moved into overall conscious. Most of them deal with video game sound effects, single verse takes and a parade of vocal samples from the video involved. Since BeatKing was the first to give us a freestyle about Jay Z & Solange's fight in that NYC elevator, here's the definitive guide to BeatKing "hashtag" freestyles.Song: "Amber Cole Freestyle"Released:
Amber Cole, a 14-year old Tennessee girl was caught giving oral sex to another student. The incident took over Twitter for a few days, sparking outrage from Cole's family demanding an apology. BeatKing's form of an apology? This freestyle, which he openly told her that he wasn't apologizing.
Then again, BeatKing doesn't apologize.Song: "PV Right Hook"Released:
A fight in a rather common area at Prairie View turned legendary all thanks to one quick hook. Naturally, BeatKing as someone who has gone to PV managed to even bring DJ Chose into the mix for a bawdy freestyle all about throwing hands and Mike Tyson circa '87 dominance.
More BeatKing madness on the next page.Song: "Bus Driver Freestyle"Released:
In October, a Cleveland bus driver and a rather unruly female passenger got into an argument. The bus driver, offended as can be delivered one of the greatest and more awful uppercuts you may ever see before flinging the woman out of the bus altogether. Old man strength if you will. "Y'all ain't figured out my strategy yet?" BeatKing asks us before warping the Bus Driver's classic, "She wanna be treated like a man, I'm a treat her like a man!" retort into a cacophony of Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter cues, Power Ranger jokes and more. It may be his funniest one.Song: "Hit Dat Bitch Jaide"Released:
A locker room fight between a bully named Jaide and a rather quiet foe becomes viral after the fight surfaces on YouTube & WorldsStarHipHop. Needless to say, Jaide got what she deserved and BeatKing, over his usual amount of swollen bass and pomp mixes Kevin Hart jokes with audio clips of the fight.Song: "PV Pond Girl"Released:
During PV's infamous homecoming celebration, a female student decided to get into a pond completely naked and was filmed by friends and more. Rumors started flying about the girl's mental health, homecoming getting cancelled and more. BeatKing swooped in and lambasted the girl for having tadpoles inside of her, looking like Rich Homie Quan (off the first or second round?) and more.
Even more BeatKing madness on the next page.Song: "Sharkeisha Freestyle"Released:
Much like Jaide, a female fight video finds its way to delight BeatKing. Only this time, his fans demanded such a freestyle be made for the occasion. Without hesitation, BeatKing lambasted the poor girl's namesake, revealing he'd never take care of the kid if her name is Sharkeshia. Then Sharkeisha went to jail over the assault she laid on the poor girl and everything got summed up rather nicely.Song: "Mimi Sextape Freestyle"Released:
Mimi Faust is a woman who stars on VH1'sLove & Hip Hop Atlanta
. She and her boyfriend Nikko who proudly wears too small vests like a lost Jodeci member made a sex tape which was sold to Vivid and depending on who you ask, made show creator Mona Scott-Young plenty of money. The actual tape is boring yet the major takeaway? The performance of one shower rod being used for multiple sex acts. Thus, BeatKing's freestyle is all about shower sex and oddly enough, doubles as a "Drunk In Love" freestyle when you think about it.Song: "Solange Jay Z Freestyle"Released:
Last week, footage was released of Solangé Knowles, sister of Beyoncé attacking her brother-in-law, Beyoncé's husband Jay Z in an elevator all while Bey watched. It has beenmemed to death
, resulting in joke videos and images of Solangé chasing Jay away better than Nas ever did.
Almost immediately, BeatKing jumped on the topic, releasing the single in duality with his "Killin It" single produced by G Luck & B Don. 97.9 The Boxx played the track to lead off their 5-o'clock hour that Monday and has stuck with it ever since. BK incorporates Chung-Li sound effects, Jay Z's "let that bitch breathe" from American Gangster's Nas collaboration "Success" and Beyoncé's "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot". The gospel according to BeatKing? He'll stop making these freestyles the moment they stop being funny to him.
