Single of the Week: "Smoke On," ESG

Wire to Wire

The video for Drake's harped-on single "Forever" came out. Hype directed it. Watch it or don't. Whatev. It won't affect your life any. On a separate note: This song is a lot better than we remembered it being. Em and 'Ye destroy their verses. And Drake ain't so bad either.

Sach O from Passion of the Weiss destroyed Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon album. Read the review. The dude is smart and stylistically makes some good points (even if we couldn't disagree with him more; the album is almost great).

Wale musically big-ups The Kanye at VH1's Hip Hop Honors. Looking forward to watching that.

When Jay-Z sat down to talk to Oprah, who was more important?

What the hell? Here's video of Kid from '90s hip-hop duo Kid 'n Play shilling for some men's suit store. Who thought that was a good idea? More over, who was on the fence about buying a suit from this store and then saw this commercial and was like, "Yep, that does it. I'm buying one from them."

Oh God, please let this be true: Kanye rumored to be recording new album.

Guess whose legacy is still being pilfered?

Say you're still hurting from the recession? Then your name must not be Birdman, who apparently has money to blow.

A little bit of news about Rakim's new album.

Okay, okay, we get it, KRS-One: You were an important guy in the development of hip-hop. But aren't you getting tired of playing that same card over and over, even if Def Jam actually did destroy rap?

The Kanye and Lady Gaga are teaming up for the Fame Kills tour. (They'll be in Houston January 22 and we are so going to be there.) That has to be the most appropriate title for a tour in the history of tour titles.

Warren G is touring? We're confused, what year is it?

Lil' Boosie got locked up for two years.

Please, please, please someone arrange that Jack White/Jay-Z collaboration Hova was talking about.

Houston Rap Video of the Week

Because you either missed it or forgot about it:
