Bun B wrecks it at SXSW; video by Motion Family

As the dust settles from

SXSW 2010

, we began scouring YouTube for clips of some of our favorite performances. We managed to capture a handful on our own, but the internet video site is awash with stuff we thought we wouldn't see again, including nearly the entire of Courtney Love and Hole's closing set on Friday night at Dirty Dog. Funny enough the guy we were bitching about the entire night being in our cameras way ended up getting some of the best stuff on YouTube. We were happy to also see that someone captured some of Ray Davies' Kinks-heavy set at La Zona Rosa that we stood in place for two hours to catch. It was well worth the early aggravation and irritation of the flatulent British businessman to our right during the show. We did see Houston's Chase Hamblin a few feet away in the crowd looking like he was in heaven watching Davies' unfurl hit after hit. Rocks Off took the first three videos ourselves, and the rest of the collection is the work of the individual uploaders.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
