Houston police are looking for the man who made a determined effort to home-invade a northside house this month, only to flee when the 13-year-old-girl inside tried to stab him with a butcher knife.
The robbery attempt happened about 8:35 a.m. Saturday morning, October 6, in the 3500 block of Vintage, Houston police say.
The girl was home with her smaller brothers when she heard someone at the front door.

"The girl did not open the door, so the suspect went to the back door of the residence and again knocked on the door," HPD says. "When no one responded, the suspect attempted to knock down the back door and was unsuccessful. The suspect went back to the front door, slammed into it repeatedly until he forced it open and entered the residence."
That's when the girl grabbed a butcher knife. The assailant took off on foot through the neighborhood.
