Ashley Michell Barnett, 21, Bayou Body Count No. 286

Intoxication manslaughter charges have been filed against a man who drunkenly rammed into two cars while speeding on the Eastex Freeway Saturday night, police say.

Oscar Javier Sanchez in is custody in relation to the death of a 21-year-old female, Ashley Michelle Barnett, who was killed. The viictim's identity is pending confirmation.

Police say Sancez was speeding in a Ford Mustang southbonund in the 7500 block of the Eastex about 10 p.m. Saturday when he collided with two other southbound vehicles, a Dodge Ram and a Dodge Avenger.

The female victim was a passenger in the Ram and was ejected from her seat and pronounced dead at the scene.

"The drivers of the Ram and the Avenger suffered serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene," HPD says.
