Best of Houston® Voting Is Open Now

The annual assessment of all that is great about this city is now open for your participation. Voting for the Best of Houston® issue is ready to go. Just head here and express your opinions, or look for ballots in the print edition later this week.

And don't forget to buy tickets for the Houston Press Best of Houston® BestFest at the Midtown "superblock" September 24 and 25.

Here's what we're looking at this year:

This is a city of invention -- a place where people not only invent themselves, but invent ways to make Houston, and the world, a better place. Our resident geniuses do it all. Some advance science, medicine and technology; others reimagine public parks, stage brilliant plays and revolutionize the way we eat. We're celebrating all the great minds that make our city great with the Houston Press Best of Houston® 2011 edition. We'll bring you the best Goods and Services, City Life, Arts and Entertainment, Sports and Recreation, Restaurants, and Dishes and Drinks. So put your thinking cap on and vote for your favorites. On September 29 we'll publish our guide to the city -- Resident Genius edition. Online voting closes September 14.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
