Comment of the Day: It Was Linevitable

We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning or afternoon from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

With all the talk about Jeremy Lin's possible impending arrival in Houston to play for the Rockets, there are bound to be some creative and not so creative headlines that get tossed around. We were guilty of at least one ourselves yesterday. Still, when Sean Pendergast wrote about the cat and mouse game Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald played with the Lin offer sheet yesterday, one commenter took the Linsanity to a whole new level.

The Chronicle writers are all salivating at the chance for some tasty Lin-pun headlines. Just know that when the A-list material runs out, we have to stomach the B-list of puns. Stuff like: Linners & saints. Lindon calling. Lin me your cheer. Here we go a-Lin. The Lin-man needs oil. We love you Lin time. Okay, maybe not that last one.

Most definitely the last one!
