We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We talked with the only dating expert in Texas actually certified by the people who put out The Rules, an ethos of dating that some say is incredibly effective and others say is horribly pathetic.

The woman talked of her philosophy of being the "Modern Geisha," which riled one commenter.

Allison wrote (in two posts, combined):

Yes! It is incredibly empowering for me to pretend I never get angry, or sad, or frustrated, and have no opinions of my own. Pesky emotions. Yeah Rules!!!

And if the "Modern Geisha" is just a new name for the same old ish, which it sounds like it is, then the "pleasures of the bed" invloves the woman never actually pointing out what works for her and dissatisfying sex for all involved.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
