Worried about when you'll actually get electricity? Have a house that's a water-clogged shell?

Don't worry! According to the most mis-timed PR release ever, FAO Schwarz is -- today -- announcing it is coming back to the Houston market in four locations, ready to serve all your needs for what it calls "luxury toys":

Exciting news...

Christmas is coming early in Houston! FAO Schwarz, the nation's leading family retail store is soon to arrive at four Macy's department stores in your city...Right in time for delightful holiday gifts, this "store-within-a-store" will carry luxury toys including plush stuffed animals, cars, trucks and trains, as well as other wonderful treats only available in FAO Schwarz stores. Holiday shopping will be four times as jolly this year!

Yeah, "four times as jolly" sounds about right. If we get power by then.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
