An argument turned deadly in a northwest-side apartment complex Saturday afternoon, Houston police say.
Derrick Tyrone Williams, 40, got into an altercation with another man about 3:30 p.m. in the complex's courtyard in the 4200 block of West 34th Street.
"The suspect went into his apartment, retrieved a gun, and returned to the courtyard," HPD said. "The two then continued their argument, at which time the suspect shot Williams one time."
Shot in the chest, Williams was declared dead at the scene. The assailant escaped on foot.
