Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for coverage of tonight’s presidential forum on gay issues, sponsored by theHuman Rights Campaign
OutSmart contributor Josef Molnar will be filing a dispatch from Los Angeles. For those of you unfamiliar with Molnar’s body of work, we asked him to write up a little intro:
I've been covering politics and hard news for ten years now, but I've always preferred to run with the bulls – or in this case, jackasses. This campaign season seems like it's going to be pretty fiery. In the past, I've interviewed President Bush the First, covered the Lawrence v. Texas case at the Supreme Court (I was present at the arguments), and pretty much taken any "boring" news item the Chronicle threw at me and found the meaty, succulent nugget within.
Sounds tasty. We can't wait to see what he serves for breakfast. – Keith Plocek
Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
