A random attack, or planned?

Gregorio Castillo Rodriguez, 39, Bayou Body Count No. 95

It's actually been a while since a Houston murder, but the streak has ended.

And it ends with a parking-lot death that doesn't have many details.

Gregory Castillo Rodriguez, 39, was returning home to his apartment in the 11400 block of Beechnut about 10:20 p.m. Friday night, Houston police say.

He parked in a back parking lot and began walking to his apartment. On the way he was shot in the chest by an assailant. Rodriguez ran across the parking lot but then collapsed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
