Guy Robs Bank, Gets Away In Taxi -- In Houston(!)

We've had bicycling bank robbers, banks robbers who waddled away, and now we've got a cool customer who takes a taxi.

In Houston, where taxis are way down the list of transportation options, that's a nice twist.

The perpetrator, described as "white male, 35-40, approximately 5'7"-5'8" tall, about 170-180 pounds with a medium build, short brown hair and a fair complexion," robbed a Chase branch in Montrose yesterday shortly before noon.

He gave the teller a threatening note, the FBI says, got some cash and then headed out the door.

He fled on foot "and was picked up by a Yellow Cab Taxi minivan," the agency says

That's Yellow Cab service!!!!

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber, or any felony suspect.  If you have information about this crime, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
