"No, that guy in the front row. Get rid of him."

Hilary Duff's Max Factor

We can admit to a faint interest, okay, barely any interest in the news that local girl Hilary Duff and her former man Joel Madden have dropped their legal action against two alleged stalkers. Not that we take stalking lightly, mind you. We're just a little done with the Hilary/Joel thing.

In October, the couple filed temporary restraining orders against paparazzi shutterbug David Joseph Klein and Maksim Miakovsky, an 18-year-old Russian emigre also known as "Max." (Word is, he's also known as "homeless.") Duff and Madden, as you may have heard, said they feared for their lives. The former couple asked that the alleged stalkers be ordered to stay a good 100 yards away from Duff, her sister Haylie, Madden and his twin brother Benji. (No word if John Madden was named in the restraining order, too.)

Interestingly, Miakovsky has been in jail since November, when he was arrested and booked on charges of making criminal threats and stalking Duff. We noticed this in TMZ's reporting in October:

"TMZ spoke with David Joseph Klein who denies claims that he is a dangerous threat. We were unable to contact Max."

What, they were too busy to check a few public benches, bus stops and churches?

For some perspective, we turned to Craig Malisow, our in-house Duff expert. Sez Craig: "Hilary had two stalkers? That's two more than I would've guessed."Steven Devadanam
