The allegations are so outrageous and outlandish that they almost sound like a fraternity prank, or something a cruel older brother might do to their little brother.
Except that they are not.
What they are, in fact, are serious accusations made in Maryland federal court against a Houston-based company that two of its employees were abused and discriminated against for being Jewish.
The lawsuit was filed by the U.S. government's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against Houston-headquartered Administaff, one of the country's largest human resources companies, and their one-time client, a Maryland cable outfit called Conn-X.
According to the lawsuit, two Jewish men, Scott and Joey Jacobson, who were jointly employed by the two companies, suffered horrific-sounding torment at work. The allegations include being called "dirty Jew," "stupid Jew," "dumb Jew" and "fu**ing Jew."
But that's far from the worst of it.

The EEOC also claims in its lawsuit that other workers pushed Scott Jacobson, poured water on him, threw him in a dumpster, tied him to a fence and shot BBs at him with an air gun, hitting him in the eye. Fellow employees also allegedly taped red swastikas on Scott Jacobson's car and put a dead mouse on his driver's seat.
The EEOC accuses Administaff and Conn-X of refusing to do anything after the two Jacobsons complained repeatedly. "The unlawful employment practices complained of ... were and are done with malice and/or reckless indifference to the federally protected rights of Scott and Joey Jacobson," EEOC lawyers state in the lawsuit.
Suzanne Haugen, a spokeswoman for Aministaff, tells Hair Balls that the company terminated its relationship with Conn-X before either Jacobson filed a complaint with the EEOC.
"Administaff has a stringent anti-harassment policy," Haugen wrote in an email, "and intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit."
