Jerry Gray Napper, 35, Shot in His Car, Bayou Body Count No. 106

In what we hope will be the end to a week that felt pretty damn violent on all counts, Houston police are investigating the shooting of Jerry Gray Napper, 34, of Pasadena. Napper was shot multiple times inside his car at the Indigo Falls apartment complex at 9800 Ledge around 3 a.m. Friday morning. He was pronounced dead upon his arrival at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

According to police, an unknown assailant shot Napper inside his car and the victim managed to drive out of the complex before falling out of his vehicle on the street. Another motorist spotted him and called 9-1-1.

Witnesses told police they saw a black male flee the scene in a maroon car. There is no known motive. Police are asking anyone with information to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
