Men: Not getting as much stimulus as you think you should? We have the answer!!

And it's not a blue pill or some iffy dose of something you might see in a creepy commercial starring Santa and the gals in the office. (Creepiest commercial of all time? Possibly!)

No, this stimulus comes from the federal government, so you know it's guaranteed.

The IRS is sending out word that there are almost 31,000 Texans who have not received the checks they were due from that Bush economic-stimulus plan earlier this year. (You know, the one that stimulated the economy so much.)

More than $19 million is waiting to be claimed, the IRS says. That's in addition to the $8 million in regular refund checks that 9,000 Texans are due.

The IRS says if you think you are due a check but haven't gotten it, head to the "Where's My Refund" tool on IRS.gov or call 1-800-829-1954.

Don't be wearing a Santa suit when you do it.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
