When police arrived at the home of Marsha Tennell about 5 a.m. Sunday, they found her son covered in blood.

They also found the corpse of the 53-year-old woman in her bedroom, dead from blunt-force trauma.

Eric Deshayn Tennell, 33, eventually admitted to cops he killed his mother, police say.

The incident happened in the Third Ward, in the 3000 block of Francis. No motive was given for the killing.
