A Houston woman strangled her 86-year-old great aunt during a fight over money, Houston police say.
Mildred Johnson had been arguing with her great niece, Alexis Larina Jones, 24, about Jones not having a job or contributing to household expenses, HPD says. "Jones then hit Johnson with a blunt object and strangled her," police say.
The incident happened over the weekend; HPD received a call about 8:30 p.m. Saturday from Johnson's relatives after they had been unable to reach her for 24 hours. Police went to her house in the 5400 block of Candlemist Drive and discovered the body in the living room.
Police say Jones, who was present during the search, confessed to the crime.
