The Aeros are returning to Toyota Center this weekend for the first time in three weeks. They are finishing up a seven-game road trip against the Iowa Stars tonight, and then will take on the Springfield Falcons tomorrow night and the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday before going back out on the road to finish out 2007.
The Aeros are currently 13-12-1-2 on the season and have 29 points. (Points, not wins, determine standings. You get two points for a win and one point for a loss in overtime or a loss in a shootout.) While the Aeros are tied for last place in the AHL’s Western Conference West Division, they are a mere five points away from fourth place.
The team is currently 3-2-0-1 on this road trip, which is a big improvement for a team that was bad on the road to begin the season. And the team is currently on a home winning streak, going 7-0-0-1 at Toyota Center since the start of November.

The first 3,000 fans at Saturday’s game receive free commemorative hockey pucks celebrating the original Aeros and their games at the Sam Houston Coliseum. It was also announced at the last home game, though I can’t find anything over the internets, that Saturday’s game will see the crowning of Ms. Aero. – John Royal
