We got a bad case of that beginning-of-the-week malady described in Office Space. What was that called again? Oh, never mind. At least the weekend was fun.

1 a.m. at Bronx Bar and 1:45 a.m. at Avant Garden

Our photog cruised from the Rice Village to the Montrose on Saturday night, bringing back photos of friendly bartenders, pretty ladies and exposed man-nipples.

The Golden Globes

Sure, there was that recap show with Nancy O’Dell and Billy Bush, but that wasn’t enough for Miss Pop Rocks, who’s just gonna die if the writers’ strike isn’t resolved before the Oscars.

NFL Division Championships

The Packers beat the Seahawks. The Patriots beat the Jaguars. The Chargers beat the Colts. The Giants beat the Cowboys. Our boy Jason Friedman

on the randomness.

And yes, we know that's not a photo of Jessica Simpson. Just click the link and you'll see what's what. – Keith Plocek

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
