Anyone else getting a little tired of Michael Phelps? No, sure, the dude is awesome. The best. For real. But we don't see why he and his mom keep getting interviewed over and over again. We know it feels great for them. We know she's proud. We know he plans to come back in 2012. Bravo. Now let's get back to gymnastics or something.

Good thing we had other stuff this weekend to keep us occupied.

11:38 p.m. at Marquis II

Bill Olive dropped by the Deux for some Long Island iced teas and indoor smoking on Saturday night.

12:13 a.m. at Blanco's

And then Bill shot the shit with Inner Loop cowboys and girls...

Remembering Elvis

In honor of the 31st anniversary of the King's death, Chris Gray complied some serious video action.

We've got plenty of sports coverage (including some praise of you know who) to come. -- Keith Plocek

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
