What a day. What a day. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. It’s the morning after South by Southwest. And the Rockets, oh, man, the Rockets...

South by Southwest

Where to begin? We covered the #*$*&% out of the annual Austin music festival. Blog posts galore, with things overheard and a guy in a cock sock. A slideshow of performances, including a killer set from Monotonix. A slideshow of spectators, including the Queen of Austin. A slideshow of the poster convention, with lots of black and red. Live-blogging the Village Voice Media Party, with photos to boot. And did we mention blog posts? Lots and lots of blog posts.

Rockets Win 22 in a Row

Meanwhile, back in town, McGrady and the Miracles won another one, this time whupping the Lakers. Jason Friedman weighed in, and even got some extra time with Shane Battier.

9:57 p.m. at Meridian, 10:24 p.m. at Lucky's Pub and 10:47 p.m. at Pashaa Ultra Lounge

Bill Olive went out looking for St. Paddy’s fun and brought back fishnet and a bikini. Lucky guy.

Everybody might be Irish today, but we’re also a little tired. Ah, well, see you at the pub tonight. – Keith Plocek

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
