Buried in the Chron story about the Sunday game between the Astros and Phillies being rained out was this little gem:

The Astros also have been told that over 100 flights on regional jets have been canceled up the New Jersey Turnpike at Newarkโ€™s Liberty Airport.

Okay, can I take this to mean that the Astros are flying by regional jets? You know, those planes where any person over five feet tall has no leg room?

Did Drayton spend so much money on Carlos Lee that heโ€™s now forcing the team to fly on puddle jumpers? He canโ€™t afford to charter a jumbo? Or even a 737?

Wow. I guess that baseball really does have money problems. Iโ€™m sorry, Drayton. I promise, the next time I go to Minute Maid, Iโ€™ll buy a program, a couple of hot dogs and a beer. That should cost about a hundred bucks. Maybe thatโ€™ll help defray the costs a little. โ€“ John Royal
