A 26-year-old man has been arrested for killing his mother, Houston police say.

Reyna Rogers, 50, was shot several times in her westside townhome in the 3000 block of Las Palmas about 9 p.m. last night, HPD says.

Her son, James Allen Rogers, was arrested at the scene.

Police say they got a gunfire call and found Mrs. Rogers at the townhome. She was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital but died there.

KPRC says the son lived there with his mother and brother, and also shot and killed a pet dog and cat.
