A Greenspoint robbery turned into murder Saturday night, police say.
Rodrigo Rodriguez Carranza, 31, was sitting in a car with his brother at an apartment complex at 90 Northpoint about 10:15 p.m. "when they were approached by two male suspects who attempted to rob them," HPD says. "During the robbery, one suspect fired his weapon, striking Carranza. The suspects, described only as two black males, fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction."
Carranza was taken to Ben Taub, where he was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
