Support the independent voice of Houston and help keep the future of Houston Press free.
Sylvia Casares, the chef and owner of Houston fave Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, was shot in the stomach Monday night by her boyfriend, our sister blog Eating Our Words reports.
Casares was allegedly shot by Michael Warren, who is also her business partner.
Warren is on the run and the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says he may be headed to Louisiana since he's from Lafayette.
Casares is in stable condition in Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was LifeFlighted after the shooting at her home in rural Fort Bend County.
Warren may be driving a black 2004 GMC Yukon with Texas license plates 42M-VT1.
He's considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should immediately contact Crime Stoppers at 281-342-8477 or the FBCSO at 281-341-4665.
