The Super Bowl is now in our rear view mirror, and the Philadelphia Eagles are world champions. However, we don’t let any team bask for too long in the aftermath of their glory, for there are bets to place! To that end, the odds on who will win the Super Bowl NEXT season were out almost immediately after all of the green and white confetti hit the floor on Sunday night.

Courtesy of BetMGM, here are the odds on winning the Super Bowl for the 2025 season, with the current defending champions leading the way:

Philadelphia Eagles +650
Baltimore Ravens +700
Buffalo Bills +750
Kansas City Chiefs +750
Detroit Lions +800
San Francisco 49ers +1400
Cincinnati Bengals +1800
Green Bay Packers +2000
Washington Commanders +2000
Houston Texans +2500
Los Angeles Chargers +2500
Los Angeles Rams +2500
Minnesota Vikings +3500
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3500
Chicago Bears +4000
Denver Broncos +4000
Miami Dolphins +4000
Atlanta Falcons +6000
Seattle Seahawks +6000
Arizona Cardinals +6600
Dallas Cowboys +6600
Pittsburgh Steelers +8000
Indianapolis Colts +10000
Jacksonville Jaguars +10000
New York Jets +10000
New England Patriots +12500
Carolina Panthers +15000
Cleveland Browns +15000
Las Vegas Raiders +15000
New Orleans Saints +15000
Tennessee Titans +20000
New York Giants +30000

As always, I have a few observations on this particular odds board:

Texans are 10th on the odds board at +2500
The Texans head into next season, according to the oddsmakers at least, about where they finished last season. Because they won the AFC South, they got a home game in the wild card round, which was a major catalyst to making them one of the final eight teams standing. With the changes the Texans have made thus far, most notably a new offensive coordinator, I feel like they cam absolutely surpass at least three or four of the teams in front of them, but for now, they sit on the fringe of the odds board top ten.

The AFC South is clearly the Texans’ division for the taking
At +2500, the Houston Texans qualify as a highly intriguing Super Bowl dark horse, not the worst place to be. For some context, that’s about there where the newly reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles sat at this time last year. Here’s the thing โ€” the Texans should be heavy, HEAVY favorites to win the AFC South again, as three of the bottom ten teams in the NFL, according to these odds, are in the AFC South โ€” Indianapolis (+10000), Jacksonville (also +10000), and Tennessee (+20000). Only the Giants are worse than the Titans.

The Dallas Cowboys have only three teams between them and the bottom of the NFC
Prior to 2024, in which they went 7-10, the Cowboys went 12-5 three straight seasons. In that time, they made zero progress in making a deep playoff run, topping out with a loss in the divisional round in 2022. Now, after an offseason with an underwhelming head coach hire and zero hope that Jerry Jones knows what the hell he is doing, they’ve plummeted to a spot on the odds board where only the Panthers, Saints, and Giants are further down the board among NFC teams. The Cowboys are a joke.

The best teams that didn’t make the playoffs this past season are….
…. the San Francisco 49ers (+1400) and the Cincinnati Bengals (+1800). If I had to pick one to get back into the postseason, I think it would be the Niners, despite Bengals QB Joe Burrow being a finalist for the league’s MVP in 2024. The Niners were ragged by injuries last season, and they are well coached. The Bengals had an awful defense, and stand a good chance of losing wide receiver Tee Higgins in free agency. The Bengals are also in the same division as the Ravens, which is tough sledding.
