The Gallery Furniture Fire, As Twittered

As you no doubt know by now, the Gallery Furniture warehouse went up in a four-alarm blaze early this morning.

We've had our differences with Mattress Mack in the past, but this is the time only for good wishes for a comeback for someone who is undeniably a Houston icon.

There's been some Twitter coverage of the event by Gallery employee Gil Velasquez.

The first item:

# Thank you to all for your kind words and safe wishes - the important thing is no loss of life at Gallery Furniture.

Other highlights include the delivery of food by Esterio Latino 102.9 FM, Kenny & Ziggy's, Jason's Deli and others. But it's not all sunshine:

# Wow - audacity of people - got a phone call asking if we are giving away damaged furniture. Wow. That is shockingly bad.

It gets emotional:

# I am crying, deeply, at the level of support others are showing Gallery Furniture, we will rebuild. #galleryfurniture #rebuild

But Gallery will not be denied!

# @beingkatie Gallery Furniture goes on - Mack's daughter delivering a TempurPedic!

The store is also taking messages of condolence and encouragement on its website. Mack himself is also Twittering.
