The Houston Press Best of Houston® BestFest Is Coming

We've all been busy putting together our annual Best of Houston® issue, even though it doesn't come out until September.

This year we're not just celebrating the city in print and online -- we're putting on a festival.

The Houston Press Best of Houston® BestFest is set for September 24 and 25, in Midtown's "Superblock," the fenced-in empty lot near the McGowen light rail stop.

National, regional and local artists will perform on two stages -- announcements to come soon -- and, as our Chris Gray puts it, "several past Best of Houston® food winners will be serving up their award-winning wares, and local artists' collectives will be along to ply everything from face-painting to graffiti. There will be beer."

Tickets are $25 for a general-admission weekend pass, and should go on sale soon. Watch Rocks Off and houstonpress.com for further details. The Houston Press Best of Houston® BestFest is brought to you by the Houston Press, J. A. C.! Entertainment, Dos Equis, Camden Apartments, the Midtown Management District and 2-Day Postcards.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
