A man allegedly trying to burglarize a northwest-side business early Tuesday morning was shot to death in a case that will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, Houston police say.
The 22-year-old man, whose name has not been released pending notification of family members, was apparently trying to break into a business in the 7500 block of West Tidwell about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police say.
"When officers arrived, they learned a male, who was believed to be securing the premises, had shot an unknown male suspect who had entered the premises illegally," HPD said. "The suspect was then transported to the hospital."
The victim died at LBJ General Hospital; the shooter was questioned and released at the scene.
