An argument turned fatal in a neighborhood near the Johnson Space Center Sunday morning.

An unidentified male went to a home in the 1900 block of Richvale about 9:40 a.m. to "confront" several people "about an earlier disturbance," police say.

The man, whose identity was not released pending notification of his family, "entered the residence and held the persons inside at gunpoint and assaulted them with the gun," police say.

One of the people in the house retrieved his own gun and shot the man once; the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter was uninjured and gave a statement to police.

The case has been referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
