A security guard who tried to break up a fight in a northwest side sports bar was killed early this morning, police say.
A fight between a man and a woman broke out in La Pantera Sports Bar in the 8300 block of N. Houston Rosslyn about 3:30 a.m. this morning, HPD says, and the guard tried to intervene.
HPD says the man shot the guard at least once. The name of the victim has not been released. Both the man and the woman fled after the shooting.
