A 23-year-old woman was shot in her apartment Thursday and died later at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston police say.
Vanessa Rodriguez called police about 11 a.m. on November 8, telling them she had been shot. When they arrived at her apartment at 8520 Pitner they found that she had suffered several gunshot wounds.
Her one-year-old was found unharmed in the apartment. Police are searching for an Hispanic male, about 5-foot-7.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Officer J. Villareal reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to the above address after Ms. Rodriguez called 9-1-1 and reported she had been shot. Officers arrived and found Rodriguez on the floor of her apartment. She was then transported to the hospital where she died. Rodriguez's one-year-old child was also found unharmed inside the apartment .
According to witnesses, a suspicious male was seen at the complex at the time of the shooting. He is described only as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a light gray hoodie.
