Waco Tribune-Herald Bought By Warren Buffett

Another Texas paper has been bought by billionaire Warren Buffett, meaning more good news in the world of Texas journalism.

Buffett has purchased the Waco Tribune-Herald for an undisclosed price from the rightwing father-son team that had owned it (and put the slogan "In God We Trust" permanently on the front page).

Their publisher's note that day said the paper's opinion pages would "champion more conservative views in our unsigned editorials, and we intend to ferret out more conservative voices in our columns." Because previously the paper had been wild-eyed liberal, apparently.

Earlier this month Buffett bought the Bryan-College Station Eagle.

He's made clear he wants to invest in local coverage, and will not make the papers he buys voice his political opinions.

Whether the Tribune-Herald will continue to loudly proclaim its trust in God, we'll have to wait and see.
